Day 17 Grayrocks Reservoir and Guernsey

O.K. I apologize for the lateness of the last couple of days posts, but I have a valid reason and will explain. First of all at the Reservoir we didn't have good reception for computer or phone, so that explains a little there.

The day was very busy. We started by heading into Guernsey to help Gary and Rae try to have a yard sale for some of Dale and Alan's things. Then we headed back to the lake to pick up the kids. They were having fun hanging with their cousins and Grandma Janet and various aunts, uncles, and other family. After picking up the kids we headed back into town and stopped at Register Cliff. This is where some of the Pioneers on the Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail stopped and carved their names into the rock. We then drove to the Cemetery and had a service for Michelle's Grandma Mary. After the service we took the kids to the Oregon Trail ruts. They are ruts that formed in the rock as all of the wagons rolled over the soft stone. These are the same people/wagons that inscribed their names at Register Cliff. The kids didn't seem entirely impressed, but they still got to see it. It is part of 4th grade Wyoming History that lots of kids see every year.

We then went back out to the lake and ate some food, played in the water, had some adult beverages, hunkered down in the tent for about 10 minutes waiting out a small rain/hail storm. The pea-sized hail was short lived, so it wasn't too bad. After the storm we all hung out and enjoyed the evening. Michelle drank the Pistachio wine and liked it. I tried it and didn't care to much for it.
